About TCP
The Congruence Project (TCP) is an ongoing inquiry into congruence. It is a commitment to honest observation of what is going on inside of you, so that you can lead life with clairty, freedom and peace.
About me and why I started TCP
I am a therapist by training, working in the person-centred tradition. I started writing this because, alongside the training and the practice, I was navigating my own ups and downs: moving to a new country, making big decisions, watching some connections deepen and others fade, finding my way through the jagged terrain of belonging, freedom, restriction, and all that comes with finding your place in the world. At some point I noticed I was busy building my life rather than inhabiting it.
In the background of all of this, I had been absorbing the work of Rogers, Moustakas, Krishnamurti, Jürgen Kriz, and slowly something from those readings began to spread its colours through my own days. The word congruence struck me when I realised something simple. When I see the movement inside me clearly, how memory, motive, imagination, feelings, and thoughts interact, without being pulled by it, without trying to change it, without analysis, life becomes graspable. Like finally being handed the manual of your own life, as it plays out. Honest, creative living emerges from it.
Seeing the gift of this, and the way it has shaped my inner and outer world, I wanted to share it. I also wanted to find people who are on a similar journey - anyone committed to living in more honest, clear contact with themselves, anyone who values inner peace.
What you will find here
Right now, this is essays and reflections, and a desire to connect.
It is not a method or a set of techniques, and I am not writing as an expert. I would rather let go of that role - of position, of authority - and be another human companion in this inquiry. The writing comes from inside it, not from above it.
Over time, I would like this to become more than writing. I imagine gatherings, dialogues, travel, and eventually a community - a place, somewhere quiet and close to nature, where people can come for these conversations and these kinds of connections. That is some way off. For now, the work is the writing, and the writing is the beginning.
Who this is for
This is for people who:
- Feel stuck, or sense a friction somewhere in themselves or their lives that is asking for attention.
- Are drawn to reflection and to noticing themselves clearly.
- Are committed to living a life aligned with inner peace and flow.
What it might offer
From what I have seen in my own life, and in the work I do, over time, this kind of noticing tends to loosen things.
- Decisions become clearer.
- Relationships find their truer shape.
- Painful feelings become easier to move through. Opens up capacity for love and creativity.
- Opens up a sense of direction, and momentum that feels organic rather than forced.
